Following criticism of "The Closer," Dave Chappelle's Minneapolis show was postponed.
In response to criticism, the stand-up comedy gig by Dave Chappelle that was scheduled for Wednesday night at Minneapolis' First Avenue was abruptly cancelled.
The message read, "The Dave Chappelle concert tonight at First Avenue has been cancelled and is transferring to the Varsity Theater."
However, numerous patrons of the well-liked downtown venue voiced their disapproval of the comedian, ultimately causing the concert to be cancelled.
Chappelle addressed gender identity issues in "The Closer," and despite harsh criticism, he has continued to stand up for his right to artistic expression.
A spokesperson for Chappelle did not immediately reply to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
